There are things on my list that have moved from week to week for over a year. Not hard things. Small ones.
I used to treat that as a discipline problem. Now I read it as information.
When something survives twelve rewrites of the same list, one of three things is true. You do not want it. You want it, but not enough to give it a real hour. Or it belongs to someone else and you said yes before you thought.
None of those are fixed by trying harder. They are fixed by saying which one it is out loud.
Go and find the oldest thing on your list. Decide which of the three it is, then either book the hour or delete it. Both are fine. Carrying it is not.
