There is no legal department here. This site collects almost nothing, and what it does collect is whatever you typed into a form so that I can answer you. Here is the whole of it, in plain words.

01

What this page is

I am one person who writes books, not a company with a data department. This site exists so you can find the books, read a few essays and send me a note. This page explains what happens to your details when you do, written the way I would explain it to a friend.

02

What I collect

Only what you type into a form yourself. That is:

  • Your name, if you fill in the contact form.

  • Your email address, from the contact form or the newsletter box.

  • Whatever you write in the message field.

  • Nothing else. There is no account to make and nothing to log in to.

I use it to answer you, and for nothing else. I do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to anyone who is not helping me deliver the thing you asked for.

03

What I don’t collect

No advertising pixels, no third-party trackers, no quiet profile with your name on it. I cannot see which paragraphs you lingered on, and I would rather not. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it happens.

04

Analytics and cookies

This site is built and hosted on Framer, and I use the analytics built into it. It tells me how many people opened a page and roughly where in the world they were — counts, not people. It does not follow you to other sites. The only cookies here are the small technical kind that keep the site working, and everything still works if your browser refuses them.

05

When you leave this site

The books are sold through Gumroad. When you buy one you are on their checkout, under their privacy policy — I never see your card details, only an order confirmation with your name and email so I can help if something goes wrong. The newsletter is delivered through Substack, under theirs. This page covers what happens here.

06

Your rights, and how to reach me

You can ask what I hold, ask for a copy of it, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. There is no form for that and no queue — write to me and it is usually done within the week. If something on this page is wrong or unclear, tell me and I will fix it rather than leave it standing.
